The latest IEEE Standard 1584 Guide for Performing Arc-Flash Hazard Calculations includes five different possible bus configurations in order to more accurately model different kinds of equipment. These configurations include three in-box types and two open-air types.
- vertical conductors in a box (VCB)
- vertical conductors with barrier in a box (VCBB)
- horizontal conductors in a box (HCB)
- vertical conductors in open air (VOA)
- horizontal conductors in open air (HOA)
